I admire Mattie's philosophy more than Molly's because Mattie has learned to roll with the punches of the world and is not afraid to be independent. Molly was very scared about not having her husband, and she was very needy of a man.
I agree with Buschbacher because even tho both women had been left alone by men, Mattie is able to accept life as it is. She also is able to look at things differently not expecting to have it all. Molly on the other hand is more devoted to her husband and believes that they will meet again. She also feel as tho when it comes to her, she deserves it all.
Mattie identifies herself with the man that she has, and if she doesn't have a man then she has no identity. Molly, on the other hand, is very independent. She has standards for the type of man that she wants, and she doesn't lower the bar for anybody. I admire Molly more than Mattie because Molly knows who she is one hundred percent of the time, with or without a man.
I like Mattie's philosophy more than Molly's philosophy because Mattie will never give up when she doesn't succeed and she will always strive to better herself even when times are hard. Molly feels very dependent on her husband and it seems like she will not survive without him. When she experiences failure she becomes very scared.
I agree with Jonathan on this Molly is the way she is because she doesn't trust anyone. To me this is a way of being afraid of trying relationships but she does have her reasons and some of her reasons are good (2489)"These men make all these babies and they run off and leave you to take care of them." But Mattie didn't want to try again after Jack but she did with Jeremy. I agree with both philosophy, but Mattie came back and tried again and didn't give up,got over it, and started to take care of herself.
I admire Molly's philosophy more so Mattie's because Mattie needs a man to complete her, while Molly realizes who she is as a person and can ba alright by herself. Mattie looks for company, not support. Molly looks for support, not company.
I agree with johnathan Mattie seems to be more well rounded and independent Molly in the other hand seems to need a man in order to make her complete. It seems as if her priorities need to be rearranged.
I agree with Ariel. I like Molly because she shows that a woman doesnt need a man to live a desent life. Mattie seems too needy and wants a man too much she seems to let the lost of a man hold her back. Also, I think that Bushbacker would be right to some degree but i think that he mixed the names of Mattie and Molly.
